The Project Manager will lead cross-functional cost reduction and value engineering initiatives across product development, manufacturing, operations, and supply chain within a regulated medical device environment. This role will be responsible for identifying and executing opportunities to improve product margins, reduce manufacturing and supply costs, optimize processes, and improve overall product economics while maintaining product quality, performance, regulatory compliance, and supply continuity.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of experience within medical devices, healthcare manufacturing, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience leading cross-functional projects or programs.
- Demonstrated experience leading cost reduction, cost-out, value engineering, or margin improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to analyze product and manufacturing cost structures, including BOM, labor, overhead, and supplier costs.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and/or Procurement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, timelines, financial objectives, resources, and execution risks.
- Working knowledge of regulated product development, quality systems, and design-control requirements.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Experience with medical device product lifecycle management, sustaining engineering, or legacy product optimization.
- Proven record of delivering measurable and documented cost savings.
- Experience with value engineering, design-to-cost, should-cost analysis, or similar cost optimization methodologies.
- Experience leading supplier negotiations, sourcing changes, supplier transitions, or make-versus-buy evaluations.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated application of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience evaluating engineering or manufacturing changes for impacts to product quality, regulatory compliance, validation, and supply continuity.
- Strong understanding of medical device BOM structures, manufacturing processes, and supply chain economics.
- Experience developing financial models, business cases, ROI analyses, or cost-benefit assessments.
- Experience establishing standardized cost-out processes, metrics, and governance across an organization.
