Senior Director of Supply Chain Strategy

Position Overview

The Senior Director of Supply Chain Strategy provides executive leadership for the development and execution of supply chain operations across four distribution centers and multiple market hub locations. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, cost optimization, service performance, and strategic growth within a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in multi-site logistics leadership, supplier strategy, and large-scale operational transformation.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies aligned with overall business objectives.

  • Lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives to enhance agility, scalability, and responsiveness.

  • Partner with executive leadership to support company growth and market expansion efforts.

  • Champion digital transformation and data-driven decision-making across supply chain functions.

Operations & Logistics Management

  • Provide oversight of warehousing, transportation, and inventory management across all distribution centers and market hubs.

  • Ensure optimal inventory levels and service performance to meet customer demand.

  • Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

  • Identify and deploy advanced supply chain technologies to improve visibility, accuracy, and productivity.

Supplier & Sourcing Strategy

  • Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships focused on quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

  • Lead global sourcing initiatives and negotiate high-value contracts.

  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Financial & Performance Accountability

  • Drive year-over-year cost savings and productivity improvements.

  • Manage budgets exceeding $100M with strong financial discipline.

  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, regulatory standards, and corporate policies.

Leadership & Culture

  • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing supply chain team.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience; wholesale distribution or industry experience preferred.

  • Proven success managing multi-site operations and complex logistics networks.

  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and inventory optimization.

  • Experience overseeing budgets exceeding $100M.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards.

  • Experience utilizing supply chain analytics tools and methodologies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  • Professional certifications (CPIM, CSCP, Six Sigma) are a plus.
