Director of Sales

Summary

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and directing sales activities within the division. The primary purpose of this position is to drive revenue growth through effective leadership while positioning the company as an industry leader focused on maximizing sales and profitability. This role will develop and lead a high-performing team of Regional Sales Representatives who are responsible for driving sales performance within their assigned territories.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Represent the company as a leader in the industry while driving maximum sales growth and profitability.
  • Directly manage and support the sales activities of Regional Sales Representatives.
  • Secure maximum market share and revenue consistent with established sales strategies, policies, and programs.
  • Develop market strategies and identify opportunities to expand business with new accounts and dealer partners.
  • Establish performance goals for direct reports while communicating a clear vision and direction to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Serve as a host and company representative at dealer meetings, conferences, incentive trips, trade shows, and related events.
  • Participate in training programs to stay current on technical developments, product offerings, and evolving customer needs.
  • Assist in resolving customer relationship issues involving dealers, contractors, and end users.
  • Oversee the quality and responsiveness of customer service provided to dealer partners.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and performance reporting.
  • Identify market trends, business opportunities, and competitive threats affecting core business operations.
  • Travel with Regional Sales Representatives to support territory growth and achievement of division goals.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive senior-level sales leadership experience with proven results.
  • HVAC wholesale distribution experience preferred, but not required.
  • 3–5 years of experience building and managing relationships with residential and commercial contractors.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing sales teams while achieving revenue goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales and market data and develop real-time business solutions.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business systems.
  • Ability to travel throughout the division up to 80% of the time.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and understanding English to ensure compliance with safety standards, training, policies, and procedures.
