The Project Manager oversees project controls, financial forecasting, contracts, subcontracting, scheduling, quality, risk management, and coordination of project activities to ensure successful delivery.
They work closely with project administration, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, trade contractors, owners, and other project stakeholders to establish priorities, manage project requirements, and maintain alignment with contractual obligations.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- 5–10 years of progressive project management experience within the construction industry supporting commercial projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction projects from planning through completion.
- Experience with project financial management, forecasting, cost control, and change management.
- Experience with construction contracts, subcontractor management, procurement, and project buyout.
- Understanding of construction scheduling, including CPM scheduling and schedule updates.
- Experience with project controls, risk management, and contract compliance.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate project administration, engineering, and field operations.
- Strong technical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with industry-standard construction software.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Experience managing medium-to-large, complex construction projects in the healthcare, higher education, or industrial sector.
- Experience with GMP, design-build, or other negotiated project delivery methods.
- Experience supporting estimating, bid-package development, and GMP preparation.
- Strong experience with subcontractor procurement, scope development, buyout, and contract negotiations.
- Experience managing project financial forecasts and identifying cost or schedule risks before they impact project performance.
- Experience with P6, Procore, CMiC, or comparable construction management/scheduling platforms.
- Experience with constructability reviews, design coordination, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
- Experience leading project teams and developing junior project management and field personnel.
- Established relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other construction industry stakeholders.
